Skin Care Tips

At Premiere Tan, our mission is to help you achieve the perfect tan.

With each visit, a tanning consultant will take a personal interest in your tanning progress. You will be asked:
How is your tan progressing?
Is the color you are receiving what you expected?
Are you getting as dark as you would like?

We will also review your tanning history and ask you about your goals and consult with you on how to achieve the tan you desire.

Following are some tips that we think you should know:

  • Exfoliated skin tans deeper and darker
  • SPF lip balm applied to tattoos prevents colors from fading
  • Tanning accelerators will produce 40%-70% more color with each session.
  • Moist skin accepts UV rays, while dry skin reflects UV rays.
  • Accelerators and moisturizers are crucial for maintaining a healthy tan and preventing tanned skin from sloughing away.
  • When starting your tanning season, come often to develop a strong base tan.
  • Lips do not contain melanin and do not have the ability to tan. A lip balm with SPF will maintain the lips' moisture.
  • When using a lotion with a bronzer, you should moisturize dry spots and apply evenly. Always wash hands after applying, and wait 4 hours before showering.
  • Legs tend to have less melanin due to slower circulation and will not tan as easily as other areas. A specialized leg lotion with a light tingle will stimulate circulation for even, maximum color.
  • Eyelids are the thinnest membranes on the human body and are especially susceptible to UV damage, and provide little protection for your eyes. You should always wear eye protection when tanning. It's the law.
  • Use of facial lotion will not only dramatically reduce acne but will also prevent sensitive facial skin from naturally thickening and becoming "leather-like" through UV exposure.
  • Use a lotion with copper to assist skin in tanning brown, rather than on the pink side.
  • If you are currently take PSORALEN, you should NOT expose yourself to UV rays.
