The first rule of tanning is NEVER BURN.
The second rule is MOIST SKIN: Tans Faster, Tans Darker and Stays
Tan Longer. So, prior to starting your tanning regime, be sure
to get your skin in shape! This means moisturizing daily to keep
your skin soft and supple so you can achieve a better tan. Also,
drink plenty of water as it aids in achieving healthy skin.
When tanning indoors, use a high-quality
lotion purchased from your tanning salon professional. Indoor
tanning lotions are formulated specifically for use with indoor
equipment. There are many types of lotions and gels-from accelerators
and bronzers to blushes and tingles. Discuss your likes and dislikes
with any of our tanning representatives and they will direct you
down the path to a healthy looking tan. All products featured
at our salons are ideal to help maintain proper skin care while
tanning.

| Accelerators jumpstart the body's natural
tanning process by stimulating the production of a pigment found
in the body called melanin. When triggered, melanin rises to the
epidermal layer of the skin, allowing the tanning process to begin.
Since our bodies do not store large amounts of amino acids, which
are components of melanin, it could take days after exposure to
UV light to develop a tan if an accelerator is not used. These premium
lotions hydrate, nourish and condition the skin. |

A Tingle lotion is an accelerator that contains
skin stimulators that create a tingling sensation on the skin that
further enhances tanning results. Many customers use a Tingle lotion
when they feel they have reached a "tanning plateau."
Tingle lotions are recommended for advanced tanners.
Blushes achieve similar results of a tingle lotion but without the
tingling sensation and can be used by a beginning tanner resulting
in a "blushed-glow" appearance. |

| Bronzers are accelerators with DHA, and
continue to darken the skin for up to six hours after tanning with
the effects lasting up to five days. Bronzers are very popular because
they result in a darker tan with less exposure. Because there are
varying degrees of bronzers, discuss with your tanning professional
which bronzer would be best for you. |
